For consumers like you and me, having a better understanding of the problem is the beginning of a chain of changes - there are so much we can do to make the earth a better home.

The purpose of this multimedia website with strong visual impact is to rise awareness of our choice of consumption.

pt.1 Audio. A podcast.

On Washington Square News, I saw an article concerning how mainstream media nowadays is accelerating fast fashion and all its ripple effects. I conducted a scholar interview with the writer Mika Chipana.

Challenge:
How can I use multimedia to spread the word and leave an impact on consumers through sense?

pt. 2 Photos. A crafted photo gallery.

User Testing + Impacts

What would I do differently?

  • Listen to the users' problem and need! Since I'm one among my user group, it's easy to assume that everyone is experiencing the exact same frustration as me. After research and actually talking to many more users, I started to notice things and aspects I've never thought of before. This project made me learn to be open-minded, critical, and have empathy for users of all needs.
  • Design with different types of audience in mind. My advocacy for environmental protection is targeting all consumer. Though, I later realized that there are specific types of consumers whose levels of awareness and willingness to change for social good are different. Next time, I will identify user types along with problem statement in the very beginning.
